This page explains how MIRO Logistics Group Ltd ("MIRO", "we", "us") approaches insurance and liability for our Same Day Courier, Removals and Managed Storage services. It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and our Complaints and Claims Policy.
MIRO maintains insurance arrangements relevant to our operations. The exact scope, limits and exclusions of our insurance are set by the terms of the policies we hold at any given time, and may change. We do not offer a blanket promise of unlimited cover, and cover for any specific item or loss depends on the circumstances, the applicable policy terms and the outcome of our claims process.
Unless we have specifically confirmed otherwise in writing for your booking, the following are not automatically covered:
If your goods fall into any of these categories, please tell us before booking so we can advise you. We do not currently offer an enhanced cover product, and no additional cover can be added to a booking unless and until this changes.
If you are moving or storing particularly valuable or irreplaceable items, you may wish to consider your own insurance arrangements for extra peace of mind.
We may ask you to declare an approximate value for your goods. This is used to help us assess risk, plan the right vehicle and handling, and — where relevant — notify our insurer. Declaring a value does not:
Any claim is assessed on its own facts, against the applicable policy and Terms in place at the time of your booking.
Where we are responsible for loss or damage to your goods, we will deal with this through our claims process, set out in our Complaints and Claims Policy. Outcomes may include repair, a contribution towards replacement, a refund, or another resolution appropriate to the circumstances, subject to the terms of the applicable insurance policy and the law.
Signing for delivery, or an electronic proof-of-delivery record, does not automatically waive your right to report damage that was not visible at the time, or remove any statutory right you may have.
Nothing in our Terms, this policy, or any other MIRO document excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
We may use vetted, authorised subcontracted drivers and providers. Using a subcontractor does not remove MIRO's responsibility to you for the service you have booked.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, limit or replace any right you have under UK consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you need to report loss, damage, shortage or delay, please see our Complaints and Claims Policy for how to get in touch and what happens next.
